Deer Hunting with my Dad
Dad puts on his camo outfit and I put on my bright red hunting
vest and my fishing cap with the little beer cans, fish hooks etc and
off we go into the woods. After a few hours, Dad starts to climb a tree
and he just sits there and waits and waits and waits.

I see a deer and shout to Dad, "There's one Daddy!"

The deer runs off and Dad starts that weird talking again. He tells me
to be quiet.  Hummmmmm.  I start collecting pretty leaves.
It gets dark, Dad is still in the trees and I start to get hungry.

"Dad! I am hungry !"

"Sheri, I had a large buck in my sight and now it is gone. Will you be quiet?"

"But Dad, it is getting cold and  I'm hungry,  I am bored and want my bed."

"Hush Sheri, I see a doe."

I look over and the cute little deer looks just like Bambi.

I look at Dad and I look at the deer and make a decision. "Run Bambi Run!!!!"

This surprises Daddy as I hear a bunch of limbs breaking and he tumbles
to the ground.

"There! Aren't you glad you didn't have to shoot Bambi ?"

I can't wait to go hunting with Daddy again !

PS: My daddy took me squirrel hunting too but for some reason he didn't come home with squirrels because I thought they were too cute... smile

My father is no longer with us. I miss him very much.  I bet he doesn't miss deer hunting with me !   I hope he finally gets a deer in heaven.
Fathers Who Are No longer Among Us

My Grandchildren-I have a new grandcat named KC my daughter found on a corner just sitting there.  She's the one climbing.
Tigger is on top.   He's the new big brother.

WHY FATHERS MATTER--Think about this
"The 30 percent of children who live apart from their fathers will account for 63 percent of teen suicides, 70 percent of juveniles in state-operated institutions, 71 percent of high-school dropouts, 75 percent of children in chemical-abuse centers, 80 percent of rapists, 85 percent of youths in prison, and 85 percent of children who exhibit behavioral disorders."

Difference between http & https.

**The main difference between http:// and https:// is: It's all about keeping you secure**
HTTP stands for HyperText Transport Protocol, which is just a fancy way of saying it's a protocol (a language, in a manner of speaking) for information to be passed back and forth between web servers and clients.
The important thing is the letter S which makes the difference between HTTP and HTTPS.  The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure". If you visit a website or webpage, and look at the address in the web brow ser, it will likely begin with the following: http:///.
This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecure' language.
In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website.
If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.
This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website!
But, if the web address begins with https:// , that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code You understand why this is so important, right?
If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https:// If it doesn't, there's no way you're going to enter sensitive information like a credit card number.

Six Ways to Reuse Aluminum Foil

Sounds like a fun thing to do with kids this summer
Next time yo pick up a bunch or two of green onions, don't discard the white ends.    Instead stick the ends into a glass with an inch or two of water.  Place in a sunny window.  Within a day or two, new shoots.  As the green comes out, snip off as needed.
Yes you can--I had a girlfriend once who made her own pasta and instead of stockings and underwear drying, you' find drying pasta hanging on her shower rod.

Great Father's Day Recipes : Recipes and Cooking : Food Network

This is GoAskAlice's recipe.  I can tell you these pickles are to die for.   She gave me some when I was at her house!
Can be doubled, tripled etc.
6 c. cucumbers, sliced
3 med. onions, sliced
1 sweet green pepper
1/2 c. salt
2 c. vinegar
2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 c. sugar or Splenda
Ice to cover

Sort cucumbers, discarding any with blemishes. Wash well.
Mix cucumbers, onions, green pepper and salt; Cover with ice, let stand 2 hours. Drain and rinse off excess salt.

Combine vinegar, boiling water, mustard seed, celery seed, turmeric and sugar. Bring to a boil.

Combine with cucumbers. Cook 5 minutes.

Pack into hot sterilized jars leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Wipe rim of jar with a damp paper towel. Adjust 2 piece caps.

Note: Original recipe did not call for further processing, but current recommendations are to process in a boiling water bath canner for 10 minutes. To avoid a cloudy brine or darkened pickles, do not use common table salt (use only canning salt).

Yield: Three 1/2 pint jars.

This makes a great salad for Father's Day
6 large ripe tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1 cucumber, peeled if the skin is bitter, seeded and chopped
1 small red onion, chopped
About 1 cup fresh curly parsley, chopped fine
Juice of 1 lemon, strained
About 1/4 cup unrefined extra virgin olive oil
Unrefined sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Toss the chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion and parsley together in a big mixing bowl but take care not to bruise the tomatoes to badly.

When the vegetables and parsley are thoroughly mixed together so as to ensure that every spoonful of salad yields a little bit of cucumber, parsley, onion and tomato, pour the juice of one lemon and 1/4 cup unrefined olive oil over the salad. Stir it again.

Generously season the salad salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.  I leave out the salt.

Directions for Dads to change diapers
"Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then fold second base down home and set the baby on the pitcher's mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again." -- Jimmy Piersal

This young man was elated when he turned eighteen in a state where curfew is 11:00 p.m. for any one under seventeen years of age. He told his Dad how happy he was that now he could stay out until 3:00 a.m. if he wanted. “Yes you can stay out as late as you want, but the car is under seventeen and it has to be in the garage by eleven.” His father said.

Yeah, Dad had his sayings too
