20 Reasons Why 2014 Will Be Better for Us All | Reader's Digest

Said the little boy, Sometimes I drop my spoon.
Said the little old man, I do that too.
The little boy whispered, I wet my pants.
I do too, laughed the old man.
Said the little boy, I often cry.
The old man nodded. So do I.
But worst of all, said the boy,
it seems Grown-ups don't pay attention to me.
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
I know what you mean, said the little old man.

In descending order, by number of unique page views:

10. Can I move my old computer’s hard drive to my new computer? - Apparently, people are getting new computers and wondering how best to transfer things over. This is one of those "Yes, you can, but you can't really do exactly what you want" kind of answers.

9. What are .iso files, and how do I open them? - As software distribution packages get larger and more and more software distribution happens over the internet, people are often left with .iso files, and a feeling of "OK, now what?"

8. Email Hacked? 7 Things You Need to do NOW - Honestly, I wish this were the #1 article. It's a resource for anyone who discovers their accounts have been hacked. I'm sure that's why it's as high as it is, but it also serves as a warning and lesson for those yet-to-be hacked.

7.  How do I fix this high CPU usage svchost virus or whatever it is? - This is a relatively old article (2007) that's in need of an update. It became popular once again due to a bug that resurfaced that causes Windows Update - running in svchost.exe - to spin and use up all of the CPU.

6. How do I print an email in (formerly Hotmail)? This was the year of the new user interface. One of the most persistent (and inconsistent) problems that people faced was very basic: how to find the hidden Print option in the new user interface.

5. What Security software do you recommend? - This one was in part because I point so many people at it. Many are simply confused by the wide variety of security software solutions that are out there. My recommendation, which has remained basically unchanged for some time, is one solution to the confusion.

4. Where is my Outlook “PST” file located? - This is another of those articles that, while updated this year, has remained fairly consistently popular since it was first written in 2006.

3. Someone’s sending from my email address! How do I stop them?! - This article felt like the most popular, as it covers a topic that was consistently one of the most asked about all year long: email account theft. Email hacking remained a rampant problem throughout 2013.

2.  My Taskbar is missing and I have no Start button. What do I do? - Updated this year as its popularity was becoming apparent, I believe this article surged in part due to a rise in malware of various flavors that cause Explorer.exe itself to crash, resulting in the taskbar disappearing.

And the most popular article for 2013 is:

1. How do I recover my Facebook login password? - Yep, at Ask Leo! Facebook is the new Hotmail. Millions of people are on Facebook and either getting their accounts hacked or simply forgetting their passwords.

Here is something special, a virtual tour of the Smithsonian Museum room by room. It is really something with a 360 degree viewing by using your cursor. You easily spend days/weeks looking at everything. Just marvelous for kids and adults. Follow the blue arrows on the floor to move into new rooms.
Shows inside and outside of the museum and there little cameras here and there which show detailed info on certain things. If you click on the floors (upper right corner) you get a floor plan of that floor and you can click on a blue circle and go directly to that room.
Truly incredible web site.
Watch it in full screen when you open this up. Use the roller on your mouse to move in and out. Look for the "arrows" on the floor and click on them. They take you to other places.

28 Fruits And Vegetables That You Had No Idea Grew Like That

From Bottom Line Publications
Winter greens often come in big bunches, making it difficult to consume all the beautiful leaves before they start to yellow. Here’s a great way to keep collard greens, kale and mustard greens fresh longer...
Keep them in a covered container in the refrigerator along with a piece of stainless steel silverware. Your greens will stay green for a few weeks rather than just a few days. This works for dark green lettuces, too. Wash your greens just before eating.

Citrus fruits like lemon are high in vitamin C, which helps play an important role in immune function. Lemons also contain substances with antimicrobial properties that keep cold and flu viruses away. Ascorbic acid (found in lemon juice) also helps iron absorption which plays a role in immune function.

1 egg
2/3 cup water
Finely chop:  onions, jalapeno -- enough to suit your taste (I like a lot)
Cheddar or any shredded cheese you like (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup)
I keep frozen corn in my freezer and when I make cornbread, I put about 1/3 cup of it right into the bowl.
MIX everything up and put in a greased pan 8x8 pan and bake at 400

Men are such romantics........

A middle-aged couple had finally learned how to send and receive texts on their cell phones. The wife, being a romantic at heart, decided one day that she'd send her husband a text while she was out of the house having coffee with a friend. She texted:

If you are sleeping, send me your dreams.
If you are laughing, send me your smile.
If you are eating, send me a bite.
If you are drinking, send me a sip.
If you are crying, send me your tears.
I love you.

The husband, being a no-nonsense sort of guy, texted back:
I'm on the toilet. Please advise.

A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

"House" for instance, is feminine: "la casa."
"Pencil," however, is masculine: "el lapiz."
A student asked, "What gender is 'computer'?"
Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether "computer" should be a masculine or a feminine noun.

Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that "computer" should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computadora") because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic.
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine ("el computador") because:
1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on.
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves.
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time, they ARE the problem; and
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

The women won.

How Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord Ps33:12

Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America”

Diamond Rio: In God We Still Trust -

"If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."- Ronald Reagan

All this time, I thought this was Billy Graham's prayer.  It isn't.
Billy Graham's Prayer for Our Nation

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your Forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word Says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have Done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We Have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded Laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it Choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable... We have Neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We Have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's Possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity And pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the Time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search Us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from sin and Set us free.
In Jesus name, amen!' With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and Wholeheartedly become our desire so that we once again can be called 'One Nation under God!'
